When Pan American’s China Clipper started flying in the early 1930’s, an interest in exotic Polynesia cuisine began. After G.I’s returned from the Pa- cific, their exposure to the South Seas foods grew. “Don the Beachcomber” opened a trendy eatery in Hollywood. After Hawaii achieved statehood in 1959, themed restaurants flourished. The Tiki Gods continue to grace us with these wondeful flavors.
